TEDxMünchen "At Second Glance"

On November 29th, Munich was treated to yet another eyeopening and inspiring event. This years theme "At a Second Glance " gave our speakers the opportunity to share their different perspectives and allowed us as the audience to challenge and question our own thinking. We were fortunate to showcase a combination of inspiring talks and great performances. These talks went below the surface and payed attention to details that are frequently overlooked and ignored. Many of our speakers acted as the mouth piece for many who do not have a voice. Their voices have now been heard and our eyes have been opened. The end goal of everyone at TEDx is to move people. We want to grow and learn as people and we hope you'll agree in saying that this years TEDxMünchen event truly was in the spirit of "ideas worth spreading".

TEDxMünchenSalon The Art of Design

We live in an age where design has come to be valued for its usefulness as a tool of consumerism.  We hear design and think of esthetics, image and fashion. But is there more to the art of design? Is design a process of thinking used to creatively solve the problems of life? Or does it apply to the intricate design of the biological structure of our bodies? What, if any, is the correlation between design in nature and the design of modern technology? With every answer, the concept of design raises a new question.

In the TED spirit of "ideas worth spreading", the TEDxMünchenSalon opened it's floor to local thinkers and doers to express their ideas on the art of design and their assumptions about the future of design to inspire, challenge and most of all spark a lively conversations on pressing issues in a way that engaged curious souls with ideas and with each other.

TEDxMünchenSalon "The Art of Design", took place on the 24th of February 2014 from 14.30 - 17.30. The event was hosted by Stephan Balzer (TEDxMünchen) and Christoph Amend (ZEITmagazin) in the facilities of the BMW Welt in Munich.
