TEDxMünchenSalon 2014 "The Art of Design" talks are now online!

In February TEDx held it's second Salon in the Bavarian capital Munich. On Monday, February 24th, 2014 Munich's leading thinkers and doers gathered in the facilities of the BMW world to listen to inspiring speakers from many different disciplines and backgrounds and discuss their views on the topic of the event "The Art of Design". The event was co-hosted with ZEITmagazin, who also worked closely with us in putting together the content of one of the sessions held during the event.

We are very happy that so many joined us on this special occasion and would like to thank everyone that played a role in making the event happen: our inspiring speakers, the partners, the team and last but not least, you, the attendee! Thank you for coming, listening and engaging in the lively conversations. We hope you were as inspired, entertained, and moved as we were.

For all that were unable to join or simply want a recap on the event, the talks of the event are now online and can be watched here. Enjoy!

TEDxMünchenSalon 2014 Introducing our first TEDxMünchenSalon Speakers

TEDxMünchen is happy to announce the first three speakers of the TEDxMünchenSalon entitled "The Art of Design". All speakers will look at the concept of design from different angles.

Ben Bogart connects art, design and technology. He is particularly interested in the neurological mechanisms of perception and fascinated by dreams. In his PhD research he uses technology to create artwork that gives insight into his findings in the cognitive field.

Veit Etzold is a story-teller. As an author of several best-selling thrillers he has perfected the art of story-telling and teaches how to apply his know-how to the corporate world.

Architect and designer Van Bo Le-Mentzel is known for his Hartz IV Möbel blueprints, his One-Sqm-House and recently the Do-It-Yourself Home "Unreal Estate House". The designs are an expression of Le-Mentzel's political opinion: living is a human right.

You will find more information on the speakers here. More speakers will follow in the next few days.

In an age where design has come to be valued for its usefulness as a tool of consumerism, we hear design and think of esthetics, image and fashion. But is there more to the art of design? Join us on February 24th from 14.30 - 17.30 at BMW Welt to discuss these and other questions.
